Banks are one of the most prominent landmarks across the world. Bringing life to these buildings is a task many cannot accomplish. When it comes to creating timeless constructions Shapoorji Pallonji has consistently delivered to their clients.
Let’s take a look at their most monumental bank projects in the world.
1. Reserve Bank of India — old building
This is the project that introduced Shapoorji Pallonji to constructing large banks in 1939. With a scope to create a structure that displays eminence and timelessness, this building, which is located in Mumbai is a testament to the quality delivered by Shapoorji Pallonji.
2. Reserve Bank of India — new building
This project was awarded to Shapoorji Pallonji at a time when the Government of India was refraining from high-cost constructions in an effort to cost-cut their annual budget. As a construction that embodied the stature of the nation, the new building has been the guardian of India’s bullion, notes, and coins since 1980. This is the very building where the government monetary policy and international foreign exchange were initiated in India.
A bank building that’s a step ahead of its time, this construction was completed in 1944 as the first banking gateway in India. The project gave the spotlight to the architectural styling which is a beautiful mix of modern classicism with a touch of art deco and vernacular influences. This is yet another example of how Shapoorji Pallonji personifies and reflects the essence of a company in its work.
4. Commercial Bank Le Boulevard Building, Qatar, 2018
One of the largest banks in Qatar, the Al Sadd Branch was commissioned by Shapoorji Pallonji International to be completed in 2018. The building is located in Doha and is a 9-storeyed piece of art that embodies the sophistication and class of the bank. The building is inspired by French architecture with accents of details with limestones from Turkey and marble from Spain.
5. State Bank Institute of Leadership, Kolkata, 2018
Located in Kolkata, this project is successfully the largest management and training institute in India by the one and only State Bank of India. The project is home to a vast variety of facilities: an administrative, an auditorium, and even an e-corner. Additionally, as part of the institution’s infrastructure, Shapoorji Pallonji constructed a complex of residential spaces including hostels and a recreation hub.
