Green buildings are becoming more and more popular because they are environmentally responsible, but they also save money on utility bills. But first off, do you know what a green building means?

What is a green building?

A green building is one that uses energy and resources more efficiently than conventional buildings. It’s also one that uses “green” materials, such as recycled paper, or recycled glass. The three main certifications in India for green buildings are: GRIHA: Green Rating of India

This is the most basic form 5 star rating certification which was formulated by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). It only requires you to have certain features such as solar panels installed on your roof, an eco-friendly paint job, and more. GRIHA certification is not required for all buildings, but it does prove you’re taking steps toward being more eco-friendly.

LEED: Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design
