House hunting is a different experience for different people, due to their varied requirements. Keeping this in mind, realtors, builders, and developers offer a wide range of housing, catering to a number of segments of the demographic. Depending on age, profession, relationship status, lifestyle, location, budget, family size, these requirements vary from a humble RHK to a penthouse and everything in between.
Still, some might get confused looking at the abbreviations like RHK and BHK or won’t know what a penthouse actually is.
So here are some basic differences between RHK, BHK, penthouse and studio apartments.
RHK:
As the abbreviation suggests, RHK is used to relate to Room Hall Kitchen. For example, a 2 BHK, for the sake of brevity in real estate parlance is said to relate to a 2 Bed Room Hall Kitchen. RHK consists of a room, hall, and kitchen so it does not have any full wall divider to divide the house and it just looks like a big room.
BHK:
As the abbreviation suggests, BHK is used to relate to Bedroom Hall Kitchen. While RHK does not have a dividing wall, BHK comes with a wall, dividing the hall to make a room. Hence it becomes a bedroom, hall, and kitchen.
Penthouse:
A penthouse condo is a luxury apartment that is set on the best, top-most (usually) floor of the structure. These apartments have excellent views of the skyline and the scene and give a feel of royalty to the residents. The term ‘penthouse’ originally referred, and sometimes still does refer, to a separate smaller ‘house’ that was constructed on the roof of an apartment building. Galleries and rooftop top decks are the extraordinary highlights of a penthouse apartment.
Studio apartments:
A studio or bachelor apartment is a small apartment that combines a number of rooms, often the living room, bedroom, and kitchen. These kinds of apartments typically consist of one large room that serves as the living, dining, and bedroom or may have a very small room for a bedroom. The kitchen facilities may either be located in the central room, or in a small separate room, and the bathroom is usually in its own smaller room.
The studio apartment is an apartment with a single room. They are also known as single-room dwelling places or studio flats. They are additionally referred to as Efficiency Apartments.
